Djan Nanudie (Jan Billycan) was a nationally acclaimed artist and respected medicine woman. Her work share the lands of her birthplace – Kirriwirri and other sites in Ilyarra country (Kimberley, WA). Around these areas there is Jila (living water), which Djan used to walk around with her parents. Sadly Djan passed away in April 2015, but drawing from precious memories of growing up, Djan’s work carries on important discussions around the legacy and the preservation of country.
